Champagne Friday! and the rebirth of my blog lets celly!

What’s up yall?! Its champagne Friday!!!!  So it has been a while since I’ve put ANY energy into this blog and I decided its time to start it back up again! There has been a ton of new faces at the box lately and in anticipation of questions, general curiosity and my urge to put out information on what I know I figured I should make this a useful resource!  So here I am and I’m planning on hitting the ground running so check this out!

For those of you who have noticed or heard that on occasion I do these strange WOD’s or talk to Coach Steve about this crazy thing called CrossFit Football, I’ve decided to subject myself to a new two month challenge starting on the 14 March 2011. This challenge is going to be 2 months following the CrossFit Football programming and Nutrition guidelines which is Paleo Plus Dairy. Now when I say dairy I'm not saying you are going to find me shoveling a pound of cheese down my pie hole, especially as I recently discovered I'm not a big fan of cottage cheese (it needs like 2 bowls of salsa to go with it). So I will only be drinking whole milk, like a lot probably not GOMAD a lot, but enough like half. So WHY BROCK WHY? Well it is simple I’m doing this challenge because I’ve labeled my primary goat that I wish to improve on as strength. So by the end of this challenge I’m hoping to have my Squat up to 300 lbs, and my deadlift up to 400 lbs. This will be around a 50 lb increase for each lift, 265 lb squat, and 350 lb deadlift as of my last Total.  So be expecting to see a bunch of posts regarding my diet, and progress through this challenge. Oh and even though it may seem a little counter intuitive, I’m challenging myself to work on my mobility AKA “bendiness” as I call it during these two months and hopefully get bendy!
In addition to chronicling my challenge I’m planning on writing a few informational posts on exercise physiology for all of you who may like a more nerdy way of looking at your exercise, what’s going on with your body and why we do what we do! First post I plan on writing is "Why the hell am I so sore? or Contractions and Adaptation How My Muscles Work Episode 1"
So hopefully you all find this to be quite the useful resource and I look forward to keeping it updated (if you have anything you want me to cover just let me know in the comments or at the box)! Don't forget its Friday our favorite day of the week, and we've all got loads to celebrate! If you're saying you don't I encourage you to look back on your week and find some obstacle  you over came and raise your glass to that, its all about the little things. Cheers and enjoy those bubbly carbs my crossfitting friends. . .

See ya at the box,
Brock!
